Everything you need to know about artificial grass, hardscape installation, pricing, pet safety, and working with Ecoworkz, all in one place.
What is the life expectancy of artificial grass?
Yes 100% free with no obligation. We visit your property, assess the project, and provide a written quote. You don’t pay a cent until you decide to move forward, and we never charge for estimate visits.
Is artificial grass similar to indoor/outdoor carpet?
Artificial grass and indoor/outdoor carpet are very different. Our synthetic grass resembles natural grass. Not only does Ecoworkz Synthetic Grass look real, but it feels real! The fiber length ranges from 1″ to 2.5″ depending on the product and there are many styles, densities and colors to choose from.
How does the sun affect artificial grass? Will it fade?
There is a lot of sub-par, imported turf that can be bought and installed at a cheaper price that will fade and degrade much faster than American made products (You get what you pay for!). Turf made outside of the USA will often have insufficient UV protection that can cause the fibers to break down prematurely. We only partner with manufacturers here in the USA, giving you the highest quality artificial grass products available. Our turf fibers have built-in UV Inhibitors that we mix into the fiber/yarn resin, we don’t use turf with topical UV treatments that will eventually wear off and fade. We have partnered with ProGreen Synthetic Grass that has installed projects in the late 1980s that still have no discernible signs of fading.
Is synthetic grass warmer than my natural grass?
Yes, of course, all synthetic grass is hotter than natural grass. It doesn’t have the natural cooling capacity of natural grass but there’s always a trade-off for the benefits such as no mowing, no watering, no chemical applications, no weeding, easier dog clean up, no mud, etc. The only real trade-off is that the surface of synthetic grass will be hotter than natural grass. But, we have never had a complaint that it was so hot that it burned a person or pet.
The darker green colored fiber absorbs more sun than our lighter shades of green. On really hot days, you can spray the synthetic grass with water right before you walk or play on it on a really hot day. Another thing that can be done to lower heat on synthetic grass is adding a light color of silica sand or other light colored infill. Complaints about the temperature are extremely rare, but we understand people have different sensitivity levels. We just want our customers to be aware that there is a slight sacrifice to overcome the increased temperature, but it won’t stop you from enjoying your lawn for years to come…even on the hottest of days!
Is artificial grass environmentally friendly?
Artificial grass is a very environmentally responsible choice! Synthetic turf is environmentally friendly for three main reasons. First, it eliminates the need for watering, saving countless gallons per year. Second, it eliminates the need for harmful chemicals that seep into the soil (fertilizers, pesticides, weed kill, etc.). And third, artificial grass is recyclable and is available with an eco-friendly infill.

What happens to pet urine and waste?
Pet urine is not a problem as it flushes through the turf’s perforated holes and drainage system when it is hosed off or when it rains. Solid waste can be cleaned up in the same manner as natural grass. Our turf will not stain and for heavy usage areas, such as dog kennels and doggy day care facilities, we use ATD deodorizer for the infill and offer an anti-bacterial spray deodorizer, Turf Fresh, that can be applied periodically. We caution not to over-water pet areas, as the turf needs a chance to dry underneath, or else unwanted odors can linger. We recommend hosing down your turf once per week.
