Our artificial grass products come with an 8-15 year warranty depending on the product you choose, but the actual life expectancy is approximately 25 years, depending on usage. Beware of lower quality products that some companies will install at a lower price, just remember you get what you pay for!
Artificial grass and indoor/outdoor carpet are very different. Our synthetic grass resembles natural grass. Not only does Ecoworkz Synthetic Grass look real, but it feels real! The fiber length ranges from 1″ to 2.5″ depending on the product and there are many styles, densities and colors to choose from.
There is a lot of sub-par, imported turf that can be bought and installed at a cheaper price that will fade and degrade much faster than American made products (You get what you pay for!). Turf made outside of the USA will often have insufficient UV protection that can cause the fibers to break down prematurely. We only partner with manufacturers here in the USA, giving you the highest quality artificial grass products available. Our turf fibers have built-in UV Inhibitors that we mix into the fiber/yarn resin, we don’t use turf with topical UV treatments that will eventually wear off and fade. We have partnered with ProGreen Synthetic Grass that has installed projects in the late 1980s that still have no discernible signs of fading.
Yes, of course, all synthetic grass is hotter than natural grass. It doesn’t have the natural cooling capacity of natural grass but there’s always a trade-off for the benefits such as no mowing, no watering, no chemical applications, no weeding, easier dog clean up, no mud, etc. The only real trade-off is that the surface of synthetic grass will be hotter than natural grass. But, we have never had a complaint that it was so hot that it burned a person or pet.
The darker green colored fiber absorbs more sun than our lighter shades of green. On really hot days, you can spray the synthetic grass with water right before you walk or play on it on a really hot day. Another thing that can be done to lower heat on synthetic grass is adding a light color of silica sand or other light colored infill. Complaints about the temperature are extremely rare, but we understand people have different sensitivity levels. We just want our customers to be aware that there is a slight sacrifice to overcome the increased temperature, but it won’t stop you from enjoying your lawn for years to come…even on the hottest of days!
Prices range between $6 and $10 per square foot installed.
An infill material (ATD-deodorizer, Sand, or Rubber) is brushed into the top of the grass which adds to the weight of the installed grass and holds it down. Additionally, the edges are nailed down with 5″ galvanized nails which are spaced approximately every 3” around the edge and 1″ off center where needed. For putting greens we use 3 1/2″ headless nails.
Artificial grass is a very environmentally responsible choice! Synthetic turf is environmentally friendly for three main reasons. First, it eliminates the need for watering, saving countless gallons per year. Second, it eliminates the need for harmful chemicals that seep into the soil (fertilizers, pesticides, weed kill, etc.). And third, artificial grass is recyclable and is available with an eco-friendly infill.
Pet urine is not a problem as it flushes through the turf’s perforated holes and drainage system when it is hosed off or when it rains. Solid waste can be cleaned up in the same manner as natural grass. Our turf will not stain and for heavy usage areas, such as dog kennels and doggy day care facilities, we use ATD deodorizer for the infill and offer an anti-bacterial spray deodorizer, Turf Fresh, that can be applied periodically. We caution not to over-water pet areas, as the turf needs a chance to dry underneath, or else unwanted odors can linger. We recommend hosing down your turf once per week.
Our turf is extremely durable. Although we can’t guarantee that your pet won’t peel back the edges of the turf, it’s extremely rare. We have installed artificial grass for pets in hundreds of residential and commercial dog runs and Ecoworkz synthetic grass and it rarely is dug up around the edges and is almost impossible to rip or tear due to the double-coated backing.
Of course there are exceptions and special cases. For areas that are subject to pets that are relentless diggers, we recommend extra nailing around the perimeter of the dog run to discourage and prevent digging. Another option is installing BendaBoard around the perimeter and tacking the grass to it.
An occasional brushing to stand the grass fibers up is recommended. Removing debris like leaves and twigs can be easily done with a leaf blower. Pet areas can be rinsed down and sprayed with Turf Fresh. To handle all your maintenance needs we offer our EcoCare Maintenance Program on any installation, even if it wasn’t done by us.

Different drainage sloping is used for different applications, depending on permeability needs. We warranty our work and stand by our installation processes which properly account for all the variables that can affect drainage.
When compared to installing a sprinkler system, top soil, the price of sod, combined with frequent watering, mowing, weeding, and fertilizing, the cost of synthetic grass hits a break-even point in 3 to 5 years. You can include drought tolerant landscaping such as rocks, mulch beds and xeriscape elements with your synthetic grass to minimize your investment. Installing Synthetic Grass is a GUARANTEED return on investment.
We work with the industry’s top manufacturers to provide you with many options of synthetic grass to choose from. An Ecoworkz representative can help you choose the right type of synthetic grass for you.
